Your “ok” for buying brand name parts on line for the best price (as opposed to Chinese and no name) makes me wonder how you know you are not getting a Counterfeit product? Sure it may be advertised as A known quality Band name..but counterfeit packaging , or even original packaging but with substituted product inside, is a BIG problem.

Scotty, I have a 1996 GMC Sonoma with 163000 miles. Are these engines rebuildable or throw aways?

I have been watching you maybe a month . There are a lot of little things a person can check on a car. You ran over some items in one of your many videos. I checked my battery and 2 cells were almost dry...car was starting but no water was visible. Strange thing is it was the 2 outside cells. They must get warmer on the outside...the rest were fine but I topped them off. Saved me buying a battery. Then your transmission video...my 09 Honda Fit has 148 K on it. Fluid was still pinkish but there were some metal in the fluid when I rubbed it between my fingers. It was a pink with some black in it on the outside. I called my mechanic...he said it uses Honda synthetic ATF Z! fluid. 129.00. I said OK...better 129 then buying another car that you don't know about. Just for giggles I stopped by an oil change place near there. They told me 19.99 plus tax if I buy the fluid. I did. Total was 22.00. I save 107.00. I checked the owner's manual fluid was correct and the fluid on the stick is correct. Car shifts great...was running fine before but a little better now...maybe since I saved 107.00!

Scotty, you seem like a good dude but for real if we listened to everything you say not to do to a car and everywhere not to go to buy parts then we'd all be at home with bicycles and no driver's licenses. Lol

EBAY some times has more stuff than some local auto parts stores, 90% of parts sold in auto parts stores are made in china including original parts, if the brand is good it doesn't matter where the part is made because you know the are made to the brands quality and specs.

I would stay away from eBay on delicate parts, they are selling exact replicas on eBay. Sometimes the packaging on these replica parts look more oem than the oem part packaging, they’re getting good.

I'm hearing pretty good things about some parts on ebay from Detroit Axle for example. An their brake kits ate half of what I would cost at my local store. Any suggestions?

You're so right about FleaBay. Too many stories to recount about all the junk I've bought and couldn't finish the repairs because the part didn't work, or it failed shortly after.
