But also, the more people we are, the more resources we need.. Correct?

We can't make the world a better place unless we make the world a richer place. Before that, it must become a safer place, but not before the world becomes a happy one. There is a way to finally get this right, but we must follow the steps.

I want to make a bigger pie, need more farmers to make more ingredients cheaper so I can eat more of it. Pay them well, their kids move on to better, farmer dies, I can't make pie.

This is not a punchline comment - it’s a wholehearted disclosure.Watching Kurzgesagt videos is an intense emotional experience for me. First, (I trust) the information is top-notch I feel I’m being born again to the world, that I’m finally getting a real grasp of the world around me - and it gives me a blueprint on how to further this understanding. Second, I hear things that I hoped to be true, and chose to believe true (positive sum world, greatness of human potential, and others) .Second, I can see through their kind of communcation (I study and train persuasion and communication) especially their script and phrasing, and boys and girls it is fucking top notch. Going to give a presentation? Use the structure Kurzgesagt uses here. And why is that emotional? Because of their why. When they combine thumnails and titles that invite disagreeing people (look at the weed legal. title or the vaccine thumbnail), use their moderate language AND use emotional language and imagery to deliveri a powerful point (like the ending of this video or the vaccine video) - and do so to factfully promote human greatness... I tear. They use great power with world class responsibility. That’s what’s gonna make our world as amazing as it can be.All things said, I wish I had ore resmources to pour on those people at Kurzgesagt - somebody get them connected to some media behemoth , give’em money, give’em a platform! People from Kurzgesagt, please let me know what other needs you have and I’ll see how I can help. Meine herzliche Dankbarkeit (:Matt

The selfish argument for making the world a better place? Is he referring to progressivism, cause this sounds an awfully lot like LBJ's Great Society Act, Hitler's Neuordnung (New World Order) and the same Globalism bullshit that motivates modern progressive fascists from AOC to George Soros...

This video is disappointing in that while it makes a very good case for lifting up other countries, it does so from a purely intellectual level, while the chief obstacle against it is human irrationality. Also, the second biggest obstacle, capitalism, isn't addressed at all. Under capitalism, EVERYTHING is a zero-sum game, regardless of available supply. Under capitalism, it doesn't matter how much food you grow because whatever poor people can't afford gets thrown in the trash, and bleach poured over it so homeless people can't dumpster dive (yes, this actually happens). Under capitalism, it doesn't matter how matter how advanced medicine is if poor people can't afford it. They just die. This video is sponsored by someone who has publicly stated they would rather support Trump than have his billions of wealth be taxed to help the poor. Capitalism is ALWAYS a zero-sum game.

The problem with this ideal, is that science and innovation have their own obstacles to overcome. Math and physics have to support it otherwise it's an unmovable theory.

Why is no one mentioning the fact that if we want to have "bigger pies" for everyone, we need "ingredients" to make it bigger. Our earth just does not have unlimited resources and if we keep on believing that our main goal as humans is innovation and positive sum game we will end up not having any "flour" to make "bigger pies". Ironically, those who are currently already struggling to make "a pie" are the first ones to be left without any "ingredients" smh
