Secret Santa surprises couple who took in 4 children following the tragic death of their parents

  • Published on: 02 December 2018
  • The number of children in Dan and Lana Weber’s home suddenly doubled earlier this year after tragedy struck their family twice.

The Madison County couple has five children – Landan, Samantha, Dalan, Mason and Emma.

Lana’s brother, Darin Hammond, died of suicide at the age of 46 on Nov. 1, 2017.

He and his wife, Emilia, were the parents of four children – Symphony, Gavin, Halle, and Eva.

Five months after Darin’s death, Emilia died of suicide at the age of 43 on April 5.

Dan and Lana instantly opened their home to their nieces and nephew – and they are now parenting nine children.

It’s been a year of change for all of the children but the family has remained positive and full of faith during this time of adjustment.

Secret Santa asked the elves to visit the Weber’s home and surprise them with an early Christmas gift. Watch the video above to see what happened.

I don't have a very large house, but I'd damn sure make room if I ever had to take in any of my family's kids for any reason...or anyone's kids for that matter.

Suicide is horrible. Sad they didn’t persevere to see what could have been. I hope these children have a better chance now of not repeating this problem.

I am deeply grateful for what you are doing. Suicide is never the answer to eliminate pain. As it causes a ripple effect to that pain for sooo many of those closest to the one committing the Suicide. Like how could anyone have children, raise them for any length of time and then check out of their lives?? Not just 1 parent but both parents??

Double suicide that's horrible mental health is seriously important. The devil is real and so is Jesus, for those whom contemplate suicide please know there hope in Jesus and that He loves you and has a huge purpose for your life no matter what lies the devil throws at you. Prayers going out to the family.

I cant judge the parents for committing suicide. Noone can or should. You never know what someone is going through.

These are beautiful children. Regardless of any hardship the parents may be going through, committing suicide (as its written in the clip description) is not the answer. I wish they had talked to someone, seeking professional help. Its very tragic.
