Oculus Rift S, anyone? Linus forgot to mention it entirely!!!!!!! No need for extra cameras at all, for $ 400, it’s a good VR headset...

I had no idea that you were into a strap on experience. Not judging.

If you aren't impressed by the finger tracking in "supported" games, just wait until Boneworks from Stress Level Zero comes out on Steam. They have some amazing work being done over there. I'm hoping other game developers will follow suite.

When Half Life VR comes out in a few months these should sell better.

If this headset was 400 dollars and the oculus rift like 200 dollars vr would be widely accepted and used by now.Vr is cool, all it needs to be is cheaper.

I really can't trust Linus' opinion on VR anymore. As a Rift S, Pimax 5K+, and an Index owner, I can say that I still prefer my Pimax to the other two, though it is heavily modded to make it better (because it is shit out of the box). For example, using the Vive Deluxe Audio Strap and of course using Index Controllers. Also the fact he is blown away by the clarity makes me feel he never gave the Pimax a shot because he wouldn't be blown away if he did.

Linus I have to totally agree with everything that you have said, but currently having the Oculus Rift, even though my system and display is now 4K and I fall into the category of someone who wants the index, it's still a lot of money to completely upgrade. The Rift S is attractive due to its ease of use and much lower price, but imo and yours the index is king. A small price drop (Half Life 3) would be a real clincher, for now i'll be holding on to my Rift for a bit longer I think. What about the Cosmos???????

No-one thought VR was dead but LTT. Biggest evangelists before the rift came out then just declared it dead.

During the past years, you should have upgraded your Vive with Deluxe Audio Strap, Wireless adapter and joystick addon for the Vive wands. Such a difference. Vive is (unfortumately) still one of the best VR-headsets out there thanks to the blacks, brightness, binocular overlap, Hz, games, tracking, and decent FOV. (duked's tech tips)

I wish I could afford this, at least I have my Oculus Rift CV1 for the meantime :D

Great review, but as an owner of the Vive/Rift the only way I'm upgrading is for wireless at this point. That's the real game changer.

I don't believe GORN has proper full finger tracking support yet, it has preset combinations of buttons that represent a few hand expressions as you saw. Please find a proper game or maybe even a tech demo to show off the controllers.

I liked the Dell Mixed Reality, despite what "Reviewers" say, it was a LOT sturdier than it seems and over 2 years of punching walls full force over and over again it still hasn't broke xD(I also like how it has no limits on play space and you don't need to set it up like other VR sets, as well as liking the 300$ price tag on Newegg making it probably the cheapest 6 dimensional headset with controllers. The display is fantastic as well.)

They are still using fresnel lenses? I'd much rather have clearer picture and a bit more weight

Had the Index and loved it and its for sure the better HMD but the controllers are overrated and the "finger tracking" is analog and feels as such so might as well have physical buttons for each finger, prob would be more accurate to use. I sent my Index back because my PDI is like 2 points wider then their max plus its def not worth $1000, maybe $700 max and the lack of content for it, VR in general. 5 years maybe VR will be gold with better pc's and better displays and true VR content, ill try VR again.

Yeah yeah yeah, we get it, 1000 dollar valve index it's real cool and all... But where's the Oculus quest coverage? 400 dollars, no PC or phone or console needed, it's all in the headset already, no baystations or cameras needed, really good inside out tracking that's 1000x better than WMR tracking, there's some really nice rift ports on it, what about that?
