Don't forget that in rotary engines, conventional oils are necessary as rotaries are designed to born oil, synthetics don't burn and you'll damage your engine using them. Remember to not use synthetics in your rotary, not like anyone here has a rotary but still

the part about environmental concerns sounds nowhere near the full story. "you're not supposed to dump it anyways" doesn't mean that it doesn't matter what the stuff does when it gets somewhere it shouldn't be. because that's what happens to all our trash. and "the production of both involves heavily criticized practices" doesn't mean that it's a wash, either. what my rudimentary knowledge of chemistry leads me to suspect is that synthetic oil most likely requires more energy to make, and most likely has a lot nastier side products. I mean, additives aside, most of a natural motor oil is just fractionary-distilled petroleum, and the rest of the petroleum gets used for other things from fuel to tar, right?

Shame on Pep Boys. Oil is oil. It's been oil for 65 million years, it'll be oil in another 65 million years. Synthetic oil doesn't cling as well, it drips off cams so start ups are not as protected.

I change the oil in my Challenger SRT8 every 6 months, as opposed to miles because it's not a daily driver and don't put many miles on it. Obviously an HP hemi motor requires full synthetic, and also takes premium gas

Sorry to break it to you but oil does not come from dead organisms, that’s bs to charge up the ass for a unlimited source of oil. It’s not running out ever. It’s bs
